“Hulk smash!”

– Hulk, proving that sometimes two words are all you need

Hulk

The Hulk is one of the most recognizable superheroes on Earth.

Possibly because he's one of the few heroes who can punch a mountain, throw a tank, leap across a continent, and still somehow be having a worse day than everyone else around him.

Created by Bruce Banner's exposure to gamma radiation, the Hulk has become one of the defining characters of Marvel Universe. Part superhero, part monster, part science-fiction tragedy, and part unstoppable force of nature, Hulk occupies a unique place in comic-book history.

And honestly?

There has never really been anyone quite like him.

What makes Hulk so enduring is that beneath the incredible strength lies a deeply human story. Bruce Banner and the Hulk represent different sides of the same struggle: anger, fear, loneliness, trauma, and the search for acceptance. Over the decades, Marvel has explored that relationship in countless ways, transforming Hulk from a simple powerhouse into one of comics' most emotionally complex characters.

Of course...

The smashing helps too.

When people think of raw power in comics, Hulk is almost always part of the conversation. His strength famously grows with his anger, creating one of the most iconic concepts in superhero fiction. The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk becomes.

Which is a terrifying design philosophy.

From classic Marvel Comics to The Avengers, Thor: Ragnarok, and countless animated adventures, Hulk has remained a fan favorite because he balances spectacle with heart. He's capable of incredible destruction, but his greatest stories are often about understanding, compassion, and finding peace with yourself.

And that's what elevates him from monster to legend.

Also... yeah... if somebody says "You won't like me when I'm angry," it is generally wise to take that statement seriously.

Fun Fact

The Hulk was originally inspired by a combination of Frankenstein and Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, blending classic monster fiction with superhero storytelling to create one of Marvel's most enduring characters.
