The Tale
From One Collection to a Whole Mountain
Like many great stories, Mythical Mountain began with a collection.
Jamey originally created the store as a way to find new homes for pieces from his personal comic collection. Kathy soon discovered that this had a delightful side effect: the “Mythical Mountain of Stuff” was finally getting a little smaller. So naturally, we expanded the idea and started re-homing toys, too.
Then something important happened. We saw how much fun people had discovering old favorites, reconnecting with things they remembered, and encountering the coolest new stuff for the first time. Mythical Mountain had become more than an outlet for a collection. It was a place where fans could explore the things they loved and discover entirely new ways to enjoy them.
We wanted to bring that experience to even more people, so we opened our St. Augustine “Wingman” store on historic St. George Street. Most recently, we expanded the Mountain online, creating another way for fans near and far to explore what we find.
The Mountain has grown quite a bit since Jamey began digging into that comic collection, but the idea behind it remains wonderfully simple:
Find the coolest stuff we can and help it reach people who will love it.
