Bishop, born Lucas Bishop, is a mutant soldier and time traveler from a future devastated by anti-mutant persecution. Raised in Earth-1191, he grew up hearing stories of the X-Men as legendary heroes from a lost age. Those stories helped shape the disciplined, fiercely protective man who would eventually travel into their era and join the team himself.

Before reaching the present, Bishop served with the Xavier Security Enforcers, policing mutant crime in a world still scarred by camps, Sentinels, and catastrophic conflict. That history makes him intensely mission-driven. When Bishop believes mutant survival is threatened, he acts with the urgency of someone who has already seen what failure looks like. His certainty can make him suspicious or dangerously overzealous, but it grows from a genuine determination to prevent his future from happening again.

Bishop’s mutant power allows him to absorb incoming or ambient energy and redirect it as powerful concussive blasts.
