WHY THIS RULES:

Light Yagami always looks like he has everything under control, which is half the trouble in Death Note. Funko Pop! #2379 captures the brilliant and dangerously self-assured student in a casual dark shirt and gray pants, with a red apple adding a particularly pointed nod to the series. That everyday appearance makes the figure fun for fans who know just how much menace can hide behind a perfectly ordinary expression.

Standing approximately 3.9 inches tall, this vinyl Pop! is right at home among standard-size anime collectibles. The apple detail makes it especially satisfying beside Ryuk, while a display with L turns the shelf into a miniature battle of wits. For collectors who have been waiting to build out their Death Note cast, the game's central mastermind belongs in the lineup.

Death Note Light Yagami Funko Pop! #2379 - Funko - Funko Pops - Common - Anime

Light Yagami turns supernatural power into a personal mandate, using the Death Note to pursue his vision of justice while matching wits with L. His greatest weapon may be his intelligence. His greatest danger may be believing it makes him right.

Light Yagami

Light Yagami is the brilliant student at the center of Death Note, a young man who discovers the power to kill with a name and decides the world needs his judgment. The supernatural notebook gives his ambitions a terrifying practical outlet. Under the name Kira, he begins reshaping society through fear while presenting himself as somebody with an exceptionally promising future.

His intelligence makes him dangerous, but his certainty makes him compelling. Light can plan carefully, improvise under pressure, and anticipate how other people will react. He also believes deeply in his right to decide who deserves to live. Every challenge to his authority risks becoming another justification for using the notebook.

The detective L turns that conviction into a sustained battle of wits. Each tries to uncover the other’s vulnerabilities while protecting the information that could end the contest. Ordinary conversations become tests, friendly gestures acquire hidden purposes, and even an apparently uneventful evening can be part of a much larger maneuver.

Light’s appeal as a character comes from watching competence collide with a colossal blind spot. He can calculate extraordinary possibilities while resisting the simplest question about his own behavior. Death Note makes that contradiction tense, disturbing, and sometimes darkly absurd. A notebook should be an uncomplicated school supply. Light turns it into a throne he believes he has earned.

Funko Pop! Animation

Funko Pop! Animation is the anime and animated heart of the Pop! universe, bringing beloved characters from animation into that instantly recognizable vinyl style. This line is where anime heroes, animated icons, and cartoon legends all get the big-head, simplified treatment that makes them pop on the shelf. It’s colorful, expressive, and unapologetically fandom-forward.

The sculpt approach stays true to the classic Pop! formula while leaning into animated character traits. Spiky hair, exaggerated costumes, signature expressions, and iconic accessories all get translated into clean, graphic shapes that read instantly. Figures are non-articulated and compact, making them easy to display solo or in massive themed lineups. The emphasis is always on recognizability and charm rather than realism.

Within the broader Pop! ecosystem, Pop! Animation is where anime fans and animation lovers really dig in. It’s one of the most expansive and fast-growing corners of the line, covering everything from long-running shonen series to cult classics and modern hits. At Mythical Mountain, Pop! Animation is pure celebration of animated storytelling in collectible form.
