Despite the rage-inducing challenges, defeating bosses is incredibly rewarding for players. The story, although it can be hard to follow, is one of suffering and isolation. Despite the isolation, you meet a variety of characters with their own sets of morals and ideals. 

Ever since the beginning of Dark Souls in 2011, fans have rallied around FromSoftware for every subsequent release. To this day, the fandom flourishes in their communal love for games they struggle on for hours at a time.
