WHY THIS RULES:

Evangelion Unit-08 Beta-ICC already has a wild temporary-combat look, and NXEDGE STYLE condenses that design without sanding off the mechanical chaos. The proportions are simplified, but the twin Gatling guns, ammo belts, and heavily armed silhouette keep the figure unmistakably tied to its Rebuild-era appearance. It is one of those releases where the stylized format actually helps the complicated design read more clearly on a small shelf.

The figure stands approximately 3.9 inches tall, which is very compact for an Eva, but Bandai gives it more than 20 points of articulation so it can still recreate wide-armed battle poses and rotating firing stances. Two Gatling guns, four ammo belts, and a dedicated display stage make the small footprint work harder than the height would suggest. For collectors short on space, this is a strong example of how NXEDGE STYLE trades scale for poseability rather than sacrificing action.

WHAT IT'S GOT:

Approximately 3.9 inches tall

The compact 100 mm height makes this one of the more space-efficient ways to display EVA Unit-08 Beta-ICC.

More than 20 points of articulation

Shoulders, arms, waist, and other joints support dynamic battle and firing poses despite the small scale.

Twin Gatling gun loadout

Two Gatling guns and four ammo belts reproduce the heavily armed temporary combat configuration.

Dedicated display stage

The included stand helps support more dramatic airborne or rotating poses.

Evangelion Unit-08 Beta-ICC NXEDGE STYLE Figure - Model Kits

EVA Unit-08 Beta ICC is Mari’s heavily modified temporary combat configuration of Unit-08, built for the spectacular Paris aerial battle in Evangelion: 3.0+1.0.

EVA Unit-08 Beta ICC

EVA Unit-08 Beta ICC is the temporary combat configuration of Evangelion Unit-08 seen in the opening battle of Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time.

Piloted by Mari Illustrious Makinami, this heavily modified Unit-08 enters combat over Paris with a dramatically altered silhouette designed for the situation at hand. The temporary configuration emphasizes extended aerial combat and specialized equipment rather than presenting a completely separate Evangelion identity.

That distinction matters. This is still Unit-08, but in one of its most visually extreme operating states.

Bandai’s NXEDGE STYLE interpretation leans into the configuration’s dense mechanical detail, distinctive proportions, and memorable appearance from the film’s opening sequence. The design captures the improvisational feel of later Evangelion machinery, where damaged, rebuilt, and mission-specific equipment can make a familiar Eva look almost entirely new.

For collectors, Beta ICC is exactly the kind of design that makes Evangelion hardware so much fun to follow. The basic identity remains recognizable, but the engineering around it has gone somewhere significantly stranger.

Apparently “temporary combat form” is Evangelion terminology for “attach enough machinery to make subtlety impossible.”

Neon Genesis Evangelion blends mecha action with deep psychological storytelling and unforgettable imagery. Fans love its emotional intensity, complex characters, and willingness to challenge expectations. It’s iconic, unsettling, and endlessly discussed.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion is mecha storytelling that stares straight into the soul and doesn’t blink. On the surface, it’s giant biomechanical Evas fighting monstrous Angels to save humanity. Underneath, it’s a deeply personal story about trauma, identity, loneliness, and the terrifying act of connecting with other people. Fans love it because it’s bold, challenging, and emotionally raw in ways anime rarely dared before it.

The world of Eva is tense and heavy. NERV feels cold and secretive. The Angels are beautiful and horrifying in equal measure. Shinji’s struggle to pilot Unit-01 isn’t about bravery, it’s about survival and self-worth. Asuka’s fire, Rei’s quiet mystery, Misato’s fractured adulthood… every character carries damage that shapes the story as much as any battle. The series evolves from sci fi action into philosophical introspection with absolute commitment.

What makes Evangelion legendary is its willingness to break expectations. It questions heroism, dismantles genre tropes, and turns inward when you expect spectacle. It’s haunting, confusing, cathartic, and unforgettable.
