Zenitsu Agatsuma is the human embodiment of “screaming internally… and externally.” Introduced in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba as a nervous, lightning-haired disaster of a swordsman, Zenitsu spends a solid chunk of his time panicking, crying, and begging the universe for literally anything that is not fighting demons. First impression? Not exactly “hero material.”
And then he falls asleep.
What makes Zenitsu legendary is the twist. When unconscious, his fear shuts off and pure instinct takes over, revealing a ridiculously skilled swordsman trained in Thunder Breathing. Suddenly the same guy who was screaming five seconds ago is moving faster than the eye can track, ending fights in a single lightning-fast strike. It rules every time.
Fans care about Zenitsu because he is painfully relatable. He is scared. He doubts himself. He does not want to be here. But when it counts, he still shows up. That gap between cowardice and courage makes his wins feel huge. Also yeah, the thunder effects and speed-blitz attacks are insanely cool.
