Wedge Antilles

Wedge Antilles is the Star Wars hero for everyone who appreciates what happens when somebody simply becomes extremely good at the job.

A Corellian pilot and mechanic, Wedge eventually joins the Rebel Alliance after becoming disillusioned with the Empire. From there, he builds one of the most quietly remarkable combat records in the Galactic Civil War. He flies an X-wing during the assault on the first Death Star, pilots a snowspeeder during the defense of Echo Base, and later leads Red Squadron into the battle above Endor.

The important word there is “survives.”

Wedge operates beside Jedi, smugglers, royalty, and heroes with destiny practically glowing around them, yet his reputation comes from skill rather than prophecy. He learns, adapts, leads other pilots, and keeps showing up for missions where starfighters have an alarming tendency to explode.

That steady competence makes him an ideal foundation for Rogue Squadron. Wedge becomes the veteran pilot younger Rebels can follow because he understands both the thrill of flying and the terrible cost of getting it wrong.

Expanded Star Wars storytelling gives Wedge an even larger career, but the durable identity remains beautifully simple: he is the Rebel pilot who survives impossible battles because courage and experience are sometimes enough.

The galaxy needs chosen ones. It also needs Wedge Antilles.
