Sousai Shojo Teien kits are generally Character-focused plastic models with articulated bodies and interchangeable presentation options. Exact contents vary, but faces, hairstyles, hands, skirts, and other parts frequently provide several ways to display the same Character.

Many releases include pre-painted facial parts so a clean Character look is achievable without advanced painting. Unpainted faces and eye decals may also be included for builders who want deeper customization.

The After School accessory series expands the world beyond the main Characters with furniture, bags, food, gifts, wigs, wardrobe pieces, and other everyday objects that help create scenes rather than just poses.

Compatibility is also part of the fun. Kotobukiya has designed portions of the line to interact with other Character model families, including shared head and neck standards with lines such as Frame Arms Girl and Megami Device on compatible releases.
