He is proud, suspicious, and deeply pragmatic, shaped by an era when shinobi villages expected betrayal as readily as cooperation. That history can make him cynical, especially around younger leaders whose optimism looks dangerously expensive. Ōnoki has seen ideals fail before. He has also seen what happens when experience becomes an excuse to stop changing.

His combat ability makes dismissing the old man an especially poor idea. Ōnoki can fly, manipulate weight through Earth Style, and wield Particle Style, an advanced technique capable of erasing targets inside its destructive field. Against threats like Madara Uchiha, that power places him among the most dangerous Kage on the battlefield even when age and injury are working against him.

What makes Ōnoki memorable, though, is that the Fourth Great Ninja War forces his worldview to move.
