Allen the Alien has the friendly manner of someone who expects a conversation and the strength of someone prepared for it to become a fight. A one-eyed Unopan working for the Coalition of Planets, he travels between worlds assessing champions and gathering the allies needed to resist the Viltrum Empire.
His early encounters with Mark Grayson begin with a misunderstanding about Earth’s defender. What follows becomes a much more consequential friendship. Allen understands that Viltrumite power reaches far beyond one planet, and he can explain the danger without treating Mark as merely another useful weapon. His humor makes him easy to welcome; his persistence makes him difficult to dismiss.
Allen’s remarkable durability allows him to survive confrontations that would end most missions. Surviving, however, is only part of his contribution. He carries information between distant allies, works within the Coalition’s politics, and helps turn scattered resistance into a coordinated response. His judgment matters as much as his ability to throw a punch.
Allen’s comic and animated appearances both lean into the contrast that makes him so memorable: he looks like an intimidating interstellar bruiser, but he approaches most situations with humor, curiosity, and an almost disarming friendliness. Animation gives that personality extra room through timing, expression, and voice performance, while the comics reveal just how important Allen becomes as the Coalition’s struggle against Viltrum expands. However you meet him, he quickly proves that the one-eyed alien cracking jokes is also one of the galaxy’s most valuable allies.
